Searching for any information and/or descendants of the eight Cheshire households found in the 1810 Accomack, VA Census. They are: Betty Cheshire, William Cheshire, Purnell Cheshire, Thomas Cheshire, Eli Cheshire, Jabez Cheshire, John Cheshire and Ephraim Cheshire. Marriages and children's names would be very helpful. How does Shadrack Chesser fit in if he is related? When/Who are the earliest burials in Chesser Cemetery near Johnson's Corner, VA and the Chesser Plot near Assawoman, VA? For whom is Chesser Road named?

There is a book in the Allen Co. IN Genealogical Library about the Godwin Family (and Chessers) written by a man named Warren Godwin Chesser of Pennsylvania. He died in the 60's as I recall, but did the entire 2nd generation Chesser family incl Purnell Chesser of Accomack Co. VA. There are photos incl. Purnell's home on the Delmarva Peninsula (Where Delaware, Maryland, Virginia meet east of Chesapeake Bay.) Chincoteague Is. is a little to the north of where they lived. No mention of Native American Heritage--only Anglo-Irish. My husband also descends from these Chessers, earlier than Purnell, but my husband and his father Francis Chesser looked amazingly like Warren Godwin (All with light brown hair with blue eyes.)

I am looking for any information you might have about Winnaford Chesser, b. circa 1796, in VA (what is now Wheeling West Virginia), she married David Rhodes of Buncombe County, NC, on 2JUL1812 in TN. They later moved to MO. Winnaford died in 1885 in Denton, TX.
Who were her parents? siblings?
Any information is appreciated and I certainly will share what information I have, including Winnaford's request for a Widow's Pension.
Thanks!
