Matthew W. Chesser born about 1834 is the oldest one that I can find. Can find him in Williamson County, TN on the 1850 census, I think. It is only initials but they fit and the age fits but no father and the mother is E. Chesser. Can find a marriage record in Robertson County, TN for July 22, 1858 when he married Amanda W. Franklin. But after that I find him with a wife, Mary (and we are still unsure of her last name) in Wayne, Lewis and Perry Counties in Tennessee. Matthew named his first born, William Thomas, then James H., Annie Elizabeth (my great grandmother), Mary E. (called Mollie), Joseph R., Rose E., Drucilla J., Elisha M. (called Hue or Hugh), Leora Josephine, and Charles M. I have found some of the children buried in West Tennessee. Does any of this sound like it might fit?
