Curious! I'm a Chestnutt, born in Coleraine, Co Derry, N Ireland. But now
living on the Isle of Wight (England).
I didn't know you had an Isle of Wight in the States as well.
I'd be interested in having a copy of this book, please.
I'll also share my family tree, when I've expanded it a bit.

This sounds like it could be the line from the Isle of Wright. The Chesnuts in "Chesnut Family Forefather" did not go to Georgia. They went west.
There is also the line connected to the Chesnut husband of the woman who wrote the "Civil War Diaries" and there is a book about that line. Alexander Chesnut who died near Winchester, VA is with that line. I took pictures of pages from the book to send to Ancestry as they had Alexander down as the father of my William Chesnut which is DEFINITELY not the case. When I get back to Virginia I think I can find the name of the name of the person who wrote the book. I was able to get it by Interlibrary loan. He was not related to Alexander but Aleander's wife, a Ross. They settled in South Carolina. Her husband, a general, was a aide to the President of the Confederates
Remind me in late Sept. to get the name of that book and its author.

I can't help you there, but I can provide people the e-book "Chesnut Family Forefathers" by John Chesnut by email. It is about William Chesnut who with his sons John and William who moved from Bucks CO. PA to what was then old Augusta County, VA and is now Rockingham CO, VA. John did not know the name of his first wife but did find the name of his father and mother (first name for the mother). It is an excellent resource. It might lead you to Antrium Ireland.
Should I send it out with the above email address?

Didn’t Don Chesnut used to manage the Chesnut(a)rootsweb.com?
I would very much like to trace my husband’s Chesnutt line from Tennessee back to eastern North Carolina. That is family legend but I have no proof. Once when we were coming back from Raleigh, NC to South Carolina we got off the interstate somewhere in NC and I just happened to see a sign for “Chesnutt Hills” and took a picture of it. Anybody know anything about that subdivision?
