Sorry I do not have any documentation on this line of Chesnut's.
Benjamin was born 1780 VA., died 1829--drowned.
Go to _www.dannychesnut.com_ (http://www.dannychesnut.com) , scroll down to
Danny Paino Chesnut and Sue Chesnut homepage and click on, then scroll down
to Golden Possessions and click on. If you are not familiar with this site
there is lot of information on Chesnuts and Benjamin is mentioned there several
times. Hope this helps.
Good Luck!
To Whom It May Concern:
I'm assisting Mr. Todd E. Chestnut in completing his application for membership in the Sons of the American Revolution.
Based on the information he has at present, his line of descent as follows:
Patriot John Chesnut (b. abt 1740 or 1749, VA - d. 5 May 1805, Knox Co, KY)
wife: Patience Gum
Benjamin Chesnut
wife: Mahala Howard
Julius Chesnut (b. abt 1816, KY - d. 1829, Lawrence Co, IN)
wife: Rosannah Hacker
Jacob Chesnut abt 1848, IN - d. ?)
wife: Catherine Wilson
Henry Chestnut (b. Mar 1878, IN - d. ?)
wife: Ada Tomey
Forrest E. Chestnut (b. 7 Feb 1921, IN - d. 8 May 1992, IN)
wife: Mary Morleand/Moreland.
What we're seeking is documentation proving descent from one generation to the next; particularly on the first three generations. Any assistance would be appreciated.
