Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Full details of some marriages at Mosside Presbyterian Church, County
Antrim, Ireland.
The church records of marriages 1859 to 1866 note only the date and the
names of the two parties. They do not include other data of genealogical
interest. The full records are at the Registrar's Office in Ballycastle and
the following four have Chestnut parites involved.
8 April 1861. Alexander Chestnut a labourer residing Loughlinch, full age,
bachelor, father William Chestnut a weaver, married Eliza Jane Murry, full
age a spinster, residing Turfahun, father John Murry a carpenter. Witnesses:
William Chestnut & Rosetta Murry.
5 February 1862. James Chestnut (signed Chesnut), a shoemaker, of full age,
a widower residing Glassaneerin, father Nathaniel Chestnut a farmer, married
Jane Cain, of full age, a spinster residing Straidbilly, father Alexander
Cain a labourer. Witnesses: William Chestnut & John Chesnut (sic).
[This is likely to be the same James who married Isabella Lee at Ramoan
Presbyterian Church in January 1853.]
29 May 1865. Daniel Chesnut, bachelor, a labourer of full age residing
Loughlinch, father William Chesnut a farmer married Lydia Kerr, of full age
a spinster residing Eagry, father Alexander Kerr a farmer. Witnesses William
Chesnut and Nancy (Sherah?).
[In the 'Notices of Intention to Marry' held in the Toberkeigh Church
records Daniel is recorded as 21 years of age and residing at Loughlinch for
6 years, and Lydia age 21 residing Eagry for 2 years.]
5 February 1865. Robert John Young, bachelor, labourer, of full age,
residing Carolelis, father Robert Young a labourer married Letitia Jane
McLain age 19 a spinster residing Liscolman, father Charles McLain a
labourer. Witnesses: William John Grames & Margaret Chesnut.
