Greetings from Ireland
I append my first and un-verified extracts from the Parish records of
Glencollumbkille, Kilcar and Killaghtee which are in south west Donegal. The
other parishes in this region with records at PRONI are Killybegs,
Inniskeel, Killymard and Inver. I hope to see these within the next 2 weeks
and also to verify my transcription of what is here.
It seems that Chestnut families have been in this area from well before
1800. The names given to children are quite distinctive: Moses, Frances and
Alice. The 'old favourites' of William, John and Jane are here also.
In due course I will put the data on the relevant page at
http://www.parkesfamily.btinternet.co.uk/
Best regards - Norman
