I'm forwarding this Chesnut obituary. Mary Chesnut is Mary Jeanette
Scoville, wife of Robert M. Chesnut. The Mt. Echo (now the Sentinel Echo)
was a newspaper in Laurel County, KY.

Looking for information on Joseph Chesnut who lived and died in Georgia in
1831. I would like to know where he migrated from and his parentage.
Thanks for any help you can send...

I am new to this list. I am looking for the parents of Abraham M.
Chastain b. c. 1854 d. Dalton, GA. I think his parents are Jacob and
Nancy Chastain and am trying to find Abraham's death cert to document his
parents. I have the list of his children but not much more than that,
except for his son Benjamin Franklin Chastain who was my gr gr
Grandfather. Thanks for any help you can offer. And of course I will be
happy to share my data.

Just a note of thanks to Don for setting up the Ches(t)nut web.
I'm still plugging away trying to find the parents of my John Chesnut b ca
1830 Ga lived in NW FL & probably died during Civil War. Am beginning to
think he dropped out of the sky. Anyone have ANY ideas?
The only clues I have are that most of the early Ches(t)nuts in NW Fl (Santa
Rosa, Walton & Washington Cos--at least in 1850+ census schedules) show
places of birth as NC .

Greetings,
I was successful in getting a listserver for our Chesnut/Chestnut
research
network. This listserver group is called CHESNUT-L (L is for list). Now, none
of us has to maintain an ungainly list of members in our mail distribution
lists and hopefully our header information will be smaller.
Any messages that you want to submit to the group, just send them to...
CHESNUT-L(a)rootsweb.com
and everyone on the list will get the e-mail. Hope this works for you.
