Have added a few more notes relative to the our Chesnut family, extracted
from some lengthy letters involving many family groups.
These groups primarily involve Augusta Co., Hampshire Co. Bath Co. Orange
Co. Va. South Carolina, Kentucky, and a few notes on Tennesse and Indiana as
our families passed through and/or some groups settled.
Ther are many family lines and groups descendend from these family groups.
The families here immigrated pre 1750, with most as early as 1690.
Will update as time is availeable.

I am interested in joining your group. I don't have much information.
My latest Chesnut i Margaret b 1 nov 1739, d 6 Dec 1827. She m Thomas
McDill 1760. Her parents were David Chesnut and Jennet Brown. David's
parents were Alexander Chesnut and Mary O"Draine.

I'm wondering what information might exist in the collective memory of
the Chesnuts, of Miss Eleanor Chesnut; born 1/8/1868 in Waterloo, Iowa;
died 11/28/1905 in a riot at the Presbyterian Mission Station in Lienchow,
China. (My Grandfather E.C. Machle was in charge of the station at the
time). She was orphaned at an early age, became a doctor at a time when
it was a very uncommon profession for women, and entered the China field
in 1894. There is a biography of her in Robert Speer's *Servants of the
King* (several editions) which I have been unable to obtain. She was
raised, I think, by an aunt in Kentucky...
