The name Thomas Chesley shows up multiple times in my family, but I have yet to find the surname, Chesley in our family. However, the surname Byassee is difficult on early records with the infinite spellings, including some with Byth spelling. The earliest proven connections are to a John Byassee who m. Edith Westbrook. He owned the land next door to his father-in-law Charles Westbrook in that part of Amelia County, VA which was previously Prince George. They were on the 1783 VA tax list and several wills, deeds and other documents before and after that. Any Thomas Chesley in Prince George County?
