Phebe Parrish was my great, great grandmother m. Nathaniel Chesley. Have you found more on her ancestry?
Thanks!
Hi
I am a descendant of Nicholas Chesley, b. 1750 in Dover, NH (supposedly -- also heard he may have been born in Gloucester, MA) and died in Paris, ME in 1827. Two of his sons, Benjamin and Samuel, moved to Chester Maine in the 1820's and I am descended from Samuel.
I am trying to find out if Nicholas is part of the line of Philip Chesley, who emmigrated from England in the 1630's and ended up in the Oyster River Plantation in NH. I have found a personal website of other descendants who say that he came over on the ship James to Salem, MA then made his way up to NH. Since I can't find any record of Nicholas' birth in Dover or Durham histories, I'm wondering if there were other Chesley's on the same boat that stayed in the Essex county area and Nicholas is a descendant of another Chesley.
Anyway, any help would be appreciated.
Liz Chesley Covert
