Nathaniel Chesley married Hannah Murray 10 May 1781 in Rockingham Co., NH. He served in the Rev. War. Their son Thomas married Hannah Sanborn in Danville, VT in 1804 then removed to Stafford, Genesee Co., NY by 1822. The family removed to Lorain Co., OH in 1847. Thomas' son, Lorenzo Dow Chesley, married Lucinda _____ in Genesee Co ca. 1841 and they went to Ohio with father Thomas. By 1852 Lorenzo and Lucinda were in Burr Oak, St Joseph Co., MI where she died in 1860. He died there in 1871. They are both buried in the Sanborn Cemetery there. Can you help me verify Lucinda's maiden name? Will gladly exchange info on this family.

Thanks for your help! My only reservation about the information on the death certificate is that it is filled out by the reporting family member, and is not always accurate. While I found John A and his family on the 1930 census in Indiana, I can't seem to locate them on the 1920. I have a feeling John was between locations during the census taking and wasn't enumerated, but I'm not certain. I will keep at it though. Best,
kathy

Hi Kathy,
I'm sorry I cannot find a link between us or supply any additional information. My advice, since your John A. Chesley died relatively recently, order up a copy of his death certificate. This will give you info about his parents and where they were born. Also, I would look hard and find them in the 1920 and 1930 US Census. You might find his parents in the same house, same street or in the same town. Good luck hunting BrianB.

Hello, I was wondering if you may be able to help me find more on my grandfather's family. He was a Chesley. His father John A. Chesley was born in 1889 in Edgar County, Illinois, but I have nothing on him before that. John moved his family around a lot. Each of my grandfather's siblings was born in a different state. He was married before he married my ggrandmother, and he and the 1st wife had 1 son--Everett b. in 1911. John then married Rosa Bullion of WV.
I thought since you were looking for a link to Illinois that we might have a connection somewhere. I will offer as much info as I can. Thanks!
