I don't know if any of these places are correct.

Are there any dates as to when they migrated to the US? Our Pieter Chesley was sent to Canada to fight the Indian wars from Old France. He then migrated to New York where he married etc. The marriage and births of his children are registered in the Reformed Dutch Church of Kinderhook NY.

I have just found notes of my grandmother stating:
John Riley Miller Jr parents were John Riley Miller of Germany and Mary Chesley of Alsace Loraine.
I know they were living in Hillsdale,Mills,Iowa in 1846 because that is where their son was born. In some census reports of their son they were also listed as being born in Indiana,Iowa or Illinios.

The Dover Gazette certainly locates it in New Hampshire. By odd coincidence(?)there are Chesleys in both Durham New Hampshire and Durham Maine, but there is no Dover Maine, and Dover New Hampshire is next to Durham New Hampshire.
So, I guess the bottom line is, how can we Chesleys get hold of this old family Bible, or the information contained therein?

I'm not sure which state. The receipt was printed at the Dover Gazette Job Office if that helps any. That is the only indication of the area.

Durham New Hampshire of Durham Maine? There are still Chesleys in that area, my branch had immigrated to Canada by then, but I expect there may be some valuable information in there.

Apparently, Charlotte was born June 16, 1806. I think she was one of 4 children. Her parents must have been Jonathan Shaw & Sarah Brown, who were married in 1805. It looks like she traces her mother's side of the family instead of her own. Some of the dates go back to 1774.

They were married on May 23, 1830. It doesn't say where, but there is a receipt for a State, County, School and Town Tax for Durham.
