St Mary's-on-the-Hill, Chester is now an centre for events and arts known as
St Mary's Creative Space. I am interested in finding and possibly
photographing a tomb/monumental inscription in this church. I have left a
message via the St Mary's Creative Space website and on the answering
machine for the contact number they give but have had no reply.
Does anyone know how I can make contact with these people?
Over the last 30 or so years I have collected much information about my
4 basic family names listed in the subject line. I am now at an age when
I fear it may be lost and that would be sad if it could be of interest
to anyone else. If you are interested in any of those names, even
through marriage, please contact me with a little detail and I will see
if I have any connections to share.
Trying to Locate Joseph BARTON bc 1858 in 1861 and 1871
Hit a brick wall in the search for Joseph BARTON bc 1858 and married to Henrietta WILLIAMSON, married 1880.
I have found him on the 1881 census, with his mother in law, and then in 1891, 1901 & 1911. He puts he was born in Dukinfield, High Lane, High Lane and Marple on these census.
I have looked at GRO records and see that a Joseph BARTON was registered in 1858 in the Stockport area, with mothers maiden name BROOKS. Two other children are registered in Stockport area to mmn BROOKS, Ann 1852 and Francis 1860.
There is also a baptism of Joseph BARTON 27 Feb 1859 to John and Hannah BARTON in Marple, and also Ann BARTON 10 Dec 1852 to John and Hannah BARTON. Marple ties in with his birthplace, High Lane and Marple given on 1891,1901 & 1911 census. Can't understand Dukinfield given in 1881 though.
Finally I've found, may be Joseph's parents, a wedding, of John BARTON to Hannah BROOKS 1842 in Macclesfield.
Where is Joseph BARTON though in 1861 and 1881? Where is Ann and Francis?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
