Hello. I'm looking for the parents of Lenora Cheshire born in 1850 in Hamilton County, FL. She married William Edward Sistrunk in 1867 and died in Hamilton County, FL on June 2nd of 1925. Their daughter Ada Mae Sistrunk, born Feb. 20th of 1888, is my great-grandmother. I have her parents listed as Handen Cheshire and Nancy Yoller. A census record from 1860 list one child, Susan, born in 1850 for the two parents. No mention of a Lenora. There appears to be another Lenora Cheshire born 1830, which is causing some confusion. My paper trial ends with the possible parents as Handen and Nancy and I would like to verify this information. Thank you for any helpful information.

This is a fairly quiet board, so you may not immediately receive assistance. If you'd like, I can move this thread to the Hamiliton County board where someone with local knowledge may be better able to help you.

Edit your original post to include that location (open the post and then click on the pen icon). Posts on location boards must specifically reference that location. After you do that I'll move this thread.
Good luck with your research!

Thank you. Sorry about that. I was reading threads about Cheshires in Hamiliton County, Fl. The information I have came second hand so I'm trying to verify it. The information I have is that a Lenora Cheshire from Hamilton County, Fl was born 1850 and died in June 2nd on 1925. Lenora's dates taken from off her tombstone. She married William Edward Sistrunk on June 6th of 1867. Their daughter, Ada Mae Sistrunk, born Feb 20th 1888 is my great-grandmother. The paper trial I have end with a possible father and mother of Handen and Nancy Toller. No other information is listed. Thanks again for helping me.

Hello. I'm looking for the parents of Lenora Cheshire born in 1850. She married William E. Sistrunk in 1867. I have her parents listed as Handen and Nancy Cheshire, but in the census records of 1860, the only child listed for them is Susan aged 10. Susan would have been born in 1850. I've seen some family trees with a William and Olivia Cheshire having a Lenora born 1830 and then another Lenora born 1850. That would mean Olivia born 1785 would have the second Lenora at age 55. Could the first Lenora be the mother of the second Lenora? There appears to be some confusion concerning these two Lenoras. I know I'm a little confused. Thanks to all that can help me solve this mystery.

It would be easier for someone to help if you'll give some idea of where in the world your CHESHIREs lived and where they were born. Since you have their census info, attaching copies or including details would also help.
Don't go by anyone else's tree. Work backward from yourself and collect documentation of each life event as you go.
