If anyone has DNA test results to share of CHESHIRE, CHESHER, CHESSOR, etc......
I am interested. More than interested. Tired of burnt records in Virginia and brickwalls.
I want to compare DNA with other researchers, especially with those with Tennyson/Tennison males in their lines.
Are you interested?

Hello CHESHIRE researchers,
I'm descended from the Florida CHESHIRES through William, son of Nicholas.
I have a copy of a Bible page given to me by my grandmother showing:
William CHESHIRE, b. 6 MAY 1790 (no wife listed, but I know he married Olive
(Olivia?) HARDY.
The children are as follows:
Elinor b. 13 DEC 1811
James b. 8 MAR 1814
Barnibas b. 24 AUG 1817
Mary b. 21 DEC 1819
Amos b. 12 MAR 1822
Caroline b. 27 JUN 1824
Benjamin b. 22 FEB 1827
Lenorah (my ancestor) b. 29 JAN 1830
William b. 18 JUN 1832
Dorothy B. 15 JUN 1838
Is there anyone from this line?
Does anyone have any idea who the parents of Elizabeth CHESHIRE (Richard's
mother)were?
Happy hunting!

I am especially interested in early Cheshire families who settled in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania and came to Virginia in the 1700s. I am searching for the parents of John Cheshire (Chesher or Chesser) who died in Harrison Co. VA in 1804 leaving a wife Sally (Hawkins) Chesher and three children. John Chesher and Sally Hawkins m.18 Jan 1795 in Fauquier Co. VA. Is there an online source for Fauquier records?

Elizabeth Cheshire and Nicholas Hutchins (b. 1711 - d. before 1794) were
indicted and charged with
bastardy in June 1734 in Baltimore County, MD for begetting this child
(Richard, b. 1730) out of wedlock (30:265 Baltimore County Records).
Hutchins was later charged and convicted in still another bastardy case.
The son, Richard, was indentured to a Hendon family and later moved with
them to Bladen Co, NC and some of his descendants ended up in Hamilton Co,
FL. These were
my wife's ancestors (Rev. Handen C. Cheshire m. Nancy Tolar in Bladen Co, NC
before coming to
Florida. He was so of Nicholas, son of Richard.

Hello CHESHIRE researchers!
Just wanted to say hello to you and let you know that I'm the new
admin of this list. I must confess that I don't have any personal
interest in this particular surname, but the list and board both
needed an admin, so here I am!
A few messages have recently come through indicating an interest in
Cheshire, England. Just a reminder -- this list is for the discussion
and sharing of information regarding the last name CHESHIRE and any
variations in any place and at any time. If you are researching
other surnames in the county of Cheshire, England, you've subscribed
to the wrong list. Whoops! To find lists appropriate for Cheshire,
England, research, please see
http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/ENG/
The CHESHIRE surname message board is gatewayed to this list. This
means that posts on the message board will also flow to the list.
Messages only go in one direction, from the board to the list (they
don't go from the list to the message board), so if you want to
respond to a message that came from the board, be sure to click on the
link provided within that message and post your responses back on the
message board. Otherwise, it's unlikely that the original poster will
see your reply.
There are about fifty of you subscribed to the list, but you're all
very quiet, probably waiting for someone else to post about your
family. <g> It would be great if each one of you who is researching
the CHESHIRE name would post a message to the list. Please create a
new message (don't reply to this one) and tell us where and in what
years you're researching CHESHIRE (or any of the variant spellings), a
bit about what information you already have, and what information you
seek. If you'd care to share other stuff, like where you live, how
long you've been researching, what successes/failures you've had, that
would be great, too!
I look forward to seeing your posts!
Best wishes,
Lynne
