This is not my family line (I don't think so anyway - my Cherrys come from Hertford). But, I am convinced that the Cherry of Bletchley came originally from North Kilworth (and the De Cherie line). If you search Cherry & Bletchley on familysearch for the 1500s and 1600s there is a striking similarity of names between the Cherrys born at Bletchley in the 16th and early 17th century and those at Kilworth. Bletchley is 40 miles from North Kilworth, but just 22 miles from Plumpton where the family originally settled in 1407. A John Cherry (who may have been a son of Henry) had three sons: HENRY (bap 1579); Roger (bap 1582); THOMAS (bap 1585 children: Thomas bap 1603, Elizabeth bap 1613, Matthew 1622); AGNES (b abt 1575) marr Thomas Wood 1595; FRANCIS (b abt 1575, children: Joan bap 1601, Isabel bap 1605 John bap 1611, Bridgett bap 1615, William bap 1608 & 1613); WILLIAM (b abt 1585: children Elizabeth 1614, William 1609, John 1619); and possibly ROBERT (b abt 1580: children born!
at Tilbrook 4km away: Richard abt 1605 marr ALice Edwards 1628; Robert bap 1605)and JOHN (b abbt 1585 who settled at Meppershall 23 miles east).
John Cherry of North Kilworth (d 1557) married Agnes. His sons included Thomas, John, William, Henry, Francis & Robert AND there is a Roger in the next generation at North Kilworth. Coincidence? I doubt it.
Regards
John Cherry

Looking for the family of Maurice CHERRY (c1834 - 1909) born and died in city of Limerick Co Limerick Ireland.
Had at least one daughter named Mary Cherry born circa 1859 also in Limerick. Not sure of Maurice's wife's name (possibly Bridget, possibly married at St. Mary's RC Church in city of Limerick in 1858). Maurice is listed as a widower as of the 1901 Limerick Census, so wife died prior to 1901.

I just was reading the "Cherry" queries and have one tidbit to share. I research Wm Grimsby of Derryhirk, Armagh. He was father of my great grandmother. The Tithe Applotment of Ireland shows he was renting his home from a "Thomas Cherry" This record was about 1826. I have been to Ireland 3 times. In preparing for the visit in 1995 I saw that Cherry's had a B&B in Armagh. I called, and daughter said it was closed for remodeling. I haven't really searched since then. I have a photo of a home (in disrepair) near intersection of 2 roads ,one bears sign "Derryhirk". Contact me .I have a question to ask. jengan(a)verizon.net
