have you noticed how tight Ireland is with their information, even if your lucky enough to get in. Everybody seems to have their hand out even when they claim "free info". Geneology must be big business! I'm not really that naive.
I believe you might need a professional to start backward from usa to Ireland, then to england. Keep in mind Im new at this, so maybe im off base.

I do understand the emigra1730tion of the cherry's from England to their immigration to America. I have also been schooled in the theory of the French Heugonot connection. Of course it is still more fun to add just a little from time to time, don't you think? Without the benefit of membership in Ancestry.com iam back to Robert cherry 1730-1798. Im probably going to have to subscribe, they seem to be everywhere. Remember, im new at this. Thanks for listening, I do ramble.

hi anne.
this is what I have so far without Ancestry.com membership.
they are all over the map on robert, 1710,1725,1730 depending on the site.
Robert cherry 1730-1799 chester, S.C. married Mary Riley
John Cherry 1765-1832 chester, S.C. married Ann Jamison
David Cherry 1801-1870 San. Augustine, Texas. Married Susannah Carpenter. Robert and John and their wives were born in Antrim Ireland. I have a lot more that I'm very sure of. LDS , Roots web, several have helped. Obviously, I haven't started a tree on Ancestry. Hope I can help if I'm right!!

Paul, All of the researchers I've run into over the years say that my Joseph Cherry does not descend from Thomas of Maidenhead. I can't prove or disprove this. I can't find 'my' Joseph anywhere before his marriage in 1841 in Alton, Madison, Illinois.
P.S. You're not married to Carole, are you?? If my old email address is shown, the current is acherrytree(a)frontiernet.net Ann
