Updating former posting on Joseph CHERRY, my husband's great grandfather. STILL looking for his birth place in England possibly Aug-Sep 1817. Parents possibly Thomas and Elizabeth or Jane as these were the names of his first two children; common to name first two after paternal grandparents. Don't know where or when he left England, where he entered the USA, or names of any siblings; have all of his children. Did find CHERRY, HARKER and HIRD intermarrying in Yorkshire, England, and a John HIRD from there married into the CHERRY family in Wisconsin, USA. John's wife's mother was Phillis HARKER HIRD. Joseph CHERRY'S father-in-law, Michael KILLION, was born in North Carolina (was Joseph there?) and is with Joseph's family on the 1850 Wisconsin Census. Joseph's wife Amelia KILLION (from widower Michael's second marriage to Nancy DONOHUE/DONOHEW) was born in Indiana but they married in 1841 in Alton, Madison, Illinois. Joseph died in Wisconsin, Amelia and family migrated to Nebr!

I have come into possession of a large archive of unidentified photos taken in northern Stewart County, Tennessee during the time period of about 1910-1925. I am trying to identify as many people in those photos as possible before donating the archive to the Stewart County Historical Society. Does anyone have any identified photos of Stewart County family members from that time period? If so, I would like to compare the people in your photos with the ones I have in my possession. If I find a match, I would be willing to send a copy to you if it is different from yours.
Thank You,
Duane Hargis
