Andrew Cherry, a well known citizen of Niles, was very seriously, if not fatally injured this week when a horse kicked him in the abdomen. The blow was so terrific that the intestines burst.
Mr. Cherry has been brought to a hospital in Salina. His condition is regarded as extremely critical by the physicians in charge.
On account of the seriousness of the injuries, Mr. Cherry was able to give little details regarding the mishap that occurred to him. ---- Salina Journal, Friday

Minneapolis Messenger, Ottawa County, Kansas, Oct. 9, 1919, page 3:
Court House News -- Oct. 6: A marriage license was issued to Wm. L. Spivey of Minneapolis and Bessie B. Cherry of Bennington. (also) Spivey-Cherry
On Wednesday morning, October 8 William Spivey of Minneapolis and Miss Bessie Cherry visited the Methodist parsonage in Minneapolis where they were united in holy matrimony, Rev. L.E. Cooke, officiating. They were accompanied by Miss Hazel Cherry, the bride's cousin and Mr. Harvey Cherry, who is a brother of the bride. The beautiful ring ceremony was used, which is the mute announcement that there is no end to true love. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Cherry of Bennington, is a graduate nurse and highly esteemed by all who have the pleasure to know her. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Spivey, thus making each of these young people represent one of the best known and favorably established families in the county. They are both products of the county, and we rejoice in the likelihood of having another home established by them like those from which they came.
Mr. and Mrs. Spivey left on the morning train for Topeka, where they will spend a few days after which they will return and will soon be at home to their many friends on a farm near Bennington, where they have the best wishes of all. ---- L.E.C
