I was wondering if you have a Sarah Elizabeth Cherry who Married Thomas Thatcher somewhere around the mid 1800's in Hunterdon County, NJ. I have no information on Sarah, but I know that Thomas' parents were Jonathan Thatcher and Aletta Ackre who married in 1824 in Hunterdon COunty. Any possible leads would be great!
Thanks,
Dottie.

Elisa: I too have a John William CHERRY, but born 1856 in Wisconsin, USA. His father, Joseph CHERRY, whom I've not been able to find anywhere before his marriage in 1841, SAYS he was born in England but sometimes I wonder if he was giving his heritage rather than his birthplace. At any rate, names crossed families among siblings; naming their children after their grandparents, then siblings, then cousins, etc. With some of yours in Michigan and mine in Wisconsin, I'm just wondering if both John Williams might have been named after a family member. After 15 years of searching for Joseph's parents and/or siblings with no luck, I'm not giving up! Thanks, Ann Cherry acherrytree(a)frontiernet.net
