Dear Peter,
Such exciting news. I would really like to communicate with you - perhaps exchange Cherry information. I have also had an email from Ann Cherry in USA with some interesting details on the American branch. She would be interested in getting in touch with you too.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Regards Beris Todd

Well, here I am over 10 years later, STILL looking for the parents of Joseph CHERRY. On 3 U.S. censuses he says he's born in England. I can't find him before his marriage in Illinois in 1841. From there the family migrated to Wisconsin, where he died in 1856 and is buried at Mifflin Cemetery in Iowa County. Married Amelia KILLION; children were Elizabeth Jane (HIRD); Thomas MIchael (Elizabeth Williams); Mary Ann (SMITH); Agnes Amelia (WILLIAMS); Joseph Henry,Sr. (Mary Richards WILLIAMS); Sarah Maria (WILLIAMS BURROWS WILLIAMS); John William (Alice Mary WATTS); Margaret Adline (died as child); and George Washington CHERRY. All born between 1842 and 1863. After Joseph's death, the family migrated to Nebraska. Joseph is a total mystery to me. Parents possibly Thomas and Elizabeth or Jane? First son, Thomas, carries his mother's father's name of Michael. Siblings?? Thanks a bunch, one of these days I sure hope to "find" his family. Ann in Ar!

Jesse Cherry left an 1847 will in Barnwell, listing his family that had moved to Autauga Co, AL. He may have been the son or brother of a Noah Cherry, listed in the Barnwell census records in the early 1800's. Anyone from these families or with Cherrys in Barnwell, please write to me
