Hi Nell,
Just got out of 8 days of Rehab for a hip replacement. Feeling pretty
good for the shape I,m in. I have copies of many of John's Clearinghouse
letters, but certainly not all. When I'm on my feet a bit more, I will gladly send
you the dates of what I have. Perhaps you can build a collection that way/

1. NEWS AND NOTES.
1a. MESSAGE BOARDS OPTIONS: http://boards.rootsweb.com/
SAY IT WITH PICTURES. Unlike RootsWeb Mailing Lists, which do not
permit attachments, you can attach pictures or scanned images to
messages you post on any RootsWeb/Ancestry board message. The potential
uses of such attachments are endless. Post a transcription of a will,
deed, or family Bible record and add a scan of the image of the original
record for others to view and download.
Perhaps you have unidentified family photos you would like to upload so
that others might view, and possibly identify, the people in the
pictures. If you have a photo of an ancestor's tombstone upload it when
posting an obituary for that individual. Signature comparisons can help
prove or disprove whether two documents were signed by the same John
Jones. Actual scanned signatures may be uploaded and added to a post
for researchers to examine. You may add up to five attachments to any
single message. Graphics files will be converted to .JPG or .GIF format
upon upload.
To add an attachment click on "Attachments: [Add]" when viewing the
POST NEW MESSAGE or POST REPLY screen. Either type in the path to the
location of the photograph or image file on your computer, or click on
the browse button to navigate to the file and then select it for
uploading.
After you have located your file or files and the paths are showing in
the boxes next to the browse button, click on SUBMIT option to upload
the files. Complete your message and remember to click on POST. You
also can select PREVIEW if you want to proofread your message before you
select POST.
The attached files will be accessible when anyone views your message.
When viewing a message, look for the icon -- it's a colorful swirl
within a box -- beneath the message. That denotes there is an
attachment to that post.

Lyndsey,
I am interested in the Newsletter for Lemuel Cherry Descendants. Mu 3rd Great-Grandmother is Sarah Cherry, born 1794 North Carolina, daughter of Lemuel Cherry and Sarah McPherson Cherry. Sarah married (1) Caleb Short, and (2) Edwin Price.
Please add my name to your list.
Thank You,
Jim Short

William b. 1804 North Carolina and Edna Perrin Heard b 1824. They married in Bibb County,Ga on 25 Oct 1842. Their family Bible gives their children's names as:Andrew D 09 October 1843
Wiley Franklin 21 October 1846
James Raleigh 22 April 1848
Cornelia Angeline 17 March 1850
Jacob Lonza 22 February 1852
Emma Edna 10 March 1854
William Thomas 10 April, 1858
Robert Hanes 17 April, 1858
Spencer and Riley Cherry seem to be William's brothers. William purchased his land from Spencer and Riley came and lived on William's land by 1850. Are they related to the Bibb County Cherry's? We haven't found a link to prove that, but they lived close to each other.
Regards,
Gaila
Hello
Its been quiet on the Cherry list and so it may be time to have a roll call.
Rules:
Change the Subject line so we can easily find your target, when we are searching the archives
Add as many dates - places - names as you have - region or state ie William Cherry 1880 NorthEast US or William Cherry died 1863, Houston County Ga.
Let us know what information you need: Parents, siblings, marriage or death??
Take a note of others researching Cherry families in your area - actively have a look in your files to see if you have anything that would help them.
For instance I have some information on Cherry families in Georgia, not a lot but I would be willing to have a look.
Good luck,
Gaila
I am currently planning a newsletter for descendants of Lemuel Cherry
(born abt. 1750) who married Sarah MCPHERSON. If you are interested,
please contact me either on list or off list at the following email
addresses.
Lyndsey Gattie
blgattie(a)ameritech.net
or
l_gattie(a)yahoo.com
make sure you include Cherry in the subject so it won't get deleted by
mistake.
Here is our brick wall -- there is the possibilty Peter may be the son of
William Cherry, but it has not been proved. Peter & Charlotte were the parents
of 14 children, so there are lots of descendants. They are my 3X
Great-grandparents. If anyone on this list is descendant from them, I would love to hear
from you.
Sincerely,

Wish I could help you, except for Caroline and William, the names you mentioned are not familiar to me. The Caroline I have is my Great Grandmother Caroline Jarvis. Both were in England all their lives. They died ca. 1880. And the William is my Great Grandfather that is married to Caroline. This is not to say positively there is not relatives of mine that came to Canada later, my dad did. To Yukon. I'm still trying to find out how he got there.

I'm researching my ggrandmother- Caroline Cherry b. 1878 in Pirton, Hertford, England. Parents were William Cherry and Ann (maiden name unknown) They had at least 4 children- Frederic b. 1874, Alice b. 1871, Jane b. 1877 and my Caroline. I know Caroline came to Canada before 1898, but can not find anything out about her siblings and parents except their names. Any info gratefully accepted. Lorraine
