Do you happen to know if Margaret had a sister named Sarah, born ca. 1794 who married Joseph Gray? At least one of their children, Charles C. Gray was born in New Jersey in 1812. (Other possible NJ births were: John & Isaac) This family left NJ and settled in North Central Kentucky.

My grandmother married into the Cherry family however she past away shortly after giving birth to her second son, back in the mid 1930s. My dad was born January 1933 and his brother was born a few years later.
I'm sorry but I believe this is the wrong place to look.
I do wish I could help you.

I have done extensive research on the Jacob Cherry (b. 1752)family. Mr Ron Parker has also researched this branch of the Cherry family and has a web site,
http://www.rfparker.com/cherry/
that might contain what you're looking for.
Gene Cherry
If he was living in Tennessee in 1860, there is a transcription of the
1860 census, and he should be listed living with his parents. The
publisher is Sistler. The transcriptions are available in some libraries
and in the National Archives.

If any of you are on Hotmail and having problems with being bounced off from time to time. Joan Young has a possible solution:
Tell them to go to Hotmail and login and look under Options, in the middle
column. There are 3 settings- safe list, mailing lists, and custom filter.
Subscribers in L mode should add the LIST address under the mailing lists
section because list mail comes TO the list address and not to the subscriber
address and otherwise will be treated like spam if the list address isn't on
the list of mailing lists. Digest subscribers should add the D-request
address (the one the digest always comes from) to the Safe list--list of
acceptable senders.
Helping Hotmail recognise Rootsweb as mail that you would like to receive and not identify it as spam, may cut down on these bounces. If your email bounces more than 4 times, the Smart mail function of Rootsweb will automatically unsubscribe you from a list. Please feel free to email me at gaila(a)merrington.net if you are having difficulties.
Best Regards
Gaila

In researching my gr-gr-grandmother, Julia CHERRY SMITH's family, I have come across this......Julia's parents, John D. and Rachel Y. CHERRY, both died in the early 1860's when their four children were very young. According to John CHERRY's Civil War Pension Index, a guardian named R.S. SPINK was named as the childrens guardian. Searching through the 1870 Seward, Winnebago Co. census, I found the Robert S. SPINK family listed with my gr-gr-grandmother, Julia, age 16, living with them. Robert is 60 years old, a farmer, b. in Rhode Island. His wife is Julia A., age 59, b. in Connecticut. Their son, Andrew C., age 30, b. New York, and his wife Annie, age 27, b. England, and their children, Lily, age 4, Charles, age 2, and Amy B., age 1, all born in Illinois, are living with them also. I have no idea why Julia is living with this family and am hoping that they are relatives of her mother Rachel or father John??? Does anyone connect with this family? Thank You!
FYI: In case someone might be interested, I found this book on ebay with many Cherry's listed.
They have many full names listed, as well as allied family surnames, and photos of the book.
The url is:

Hope it helps,
Jamie
