I did not know my grandparents, the information I have is next to nothing. My father's parents names were Seaborn Cherry & Nancy Elisabeth Hodge.I don't have anything on the names of their parents.Seaborn was supposed to have a brother named Oscar & several other brothers in other states. The only name I have for one of Nancy's siblings is Homer Hodge.Although my father always said his mother was Cherokee Indian.I am very new at this & really don't know how to dig for information. If anyone has anything on any of these names, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not related to Smith R Cherry, but looks like he was in Randolph County in 1830-1831 time slot. Ancestry says he is listed in the 1830 Census for Randolph County. In 1842, there is a Smith R Cherry in Texas, but I don't know if this is the same person.
Hope this helps someone.

Casper, Wyoming-A celebration of the life of Casper resident Penny Cherry will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Highland Park Community Church in Casper. She died June 4th at home after a short illness.
She was born August 27, 1945 in Bremerton, Washington, the daughter of Harold and Katherine Penhall, and graduated from Elk City Senior High School in Elk City, Oklahoma. Penny moved to Casper in 1966 and went to work for J.C. Penny's. Penny also spent time employed with The Drawbridge, The Townhouse, The Goose Egg Inn, and Equality State Bank. One of her most enjoyable professional experiences was The Ramada Inn, where she began at the front desk, and worked her way up to assistant manager, while cultivating lifelong friendships with the staff and customers. Penny was a home healthcare giver for the last 12 years.
On December 31, 1975, she married Glen Cherry of Casper. Penny was active in the Community, a member of Who's Who of American Business Women. She was one of the first women members of the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, and was an instructor for Ramada Inn employees in Dale Carnegie training. Penny greatly enjoyed her family and friends, gardening, and spending time with her two new granddaughters.
Survivors include her husband, Glen Cherry of Casper, her son John Cherry of Casper, her daughter Tara Short and husband Donovan of Casper, five step-children, Doug Cherry of Sheridan, Dave Cherry and wife Kathy of Casper, Jim Cherry of San Francisco, California, William Cherry of Los Angeles, California, Kathe Cherry of Greeley, Colorado, her brother, Joe Penhall of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her sister, Katherine Ann Heerwald of Clinton, Oklahoma, four step-grandchildren, Glenda of Sturgis, South Dakota, Russell, Sara Beth, and Emily of Greeley, Colorado, and two granddaughters, Paige Cherry and Darrah Short, both of Casper.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Self-Help Center in Casper.
Bustard's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Note: I am of no relation, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are. This is here as a lasting memorial for Mrs. Cherry.

I am looking for Robert Owen Parrish, who married Ethel Rosetta Parrish. I have absolutely no information about Robert's ancestors. He married Ethel in GA in the early 1900's and they had many children: Nettie, John, Carl, George, Muriel, Billy, Ruth, Gervis and Robert. I know the family ended up in Orange Park FL. If anyone has information on Robert Cherry, please email me at eac8423(a)yahoo.com.
