Hello,
I don't want to start unneccessary discussion on viruses, but the latest trick is to send out returned mail with an attachment, that it says You have sent to someone. Instead it is a virus laden screen saver.
Look any attachments you receive with a critical eye. It is much better to lose an email, than to open up a virus attachment.
Rootsweb does not send or receive attachments.
Take care,
Gaila

CHERRY, Charles Edwin (Chuck) February 28, 1951 - May 2, 2002
After a courageous and frustrating battle with cancer, his family is greatly saddened to announce his untimely but peaceful death, at Toronto Riverdale Hospital. Chuck is now with his loving parents who predeceased him, Charles William in September of 1970 and Charlotte Mabel (nee Davis) in August of 1993. He is survived by his sister Jacqueline Pickering of Oakville, and his brothers Arthur of Oakville, Jim and his wife Darlene of Jasper, and Donn and his wife Sandy of Etobicoke. Chuck was also the proud uncle of many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Born in Toronto, he resided in Markham, Oakville and most recently in the town of Waterdown, a quiet little community where he felt most at home. After his honourabe discharge from the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada, Chuck's working career was both interesting and varied. He was a social worker at ''Participation House'' in Markham and a ''prepressman'' with Metroland Publishing and Bowne of Canada. His final years !
were spent on staff at White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville as an Instructor's Aid. Work he found most gratifying and rewarding. Whenever he was asked anything regarding ''his'' school, or ''his'' students, his answer would always start with ...
''They're good kids, you know...''
Chuck's absence will be deeply felt by his colleagues and his students, as well as the numerous friends he made during his fifty- one years with us. The family wishes to extend much gratitude and heart-felt thanks to the staff in the Palliative Care Unit - 4 West - Toronto Riverdale Hospital. Brenda, Wanda, Terry, Lenore, Bonnie, Harvey and Sister Connie
these were ''Charlie's Guardian Angels''. Their warm, thoughtful and generous continuing care, during his stay, will always be appreciated and never forgotten. God bless you all. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A. W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 7. Service in the Chapel on Wednesday, May 8 at 11 o'clock. Interment Highland Memory Gardens

Subject: New YorkState, Mary Cherry
Mary Cherry married Eaton Vail in 1825, in Orange County, New York. I suspect she was not from Orange as I have been unable to locate any Cherry's in the vicinity until about the 1850's. Eaton had family(cousins) in Southhold, Long Island. and she may be from that area. Mary was born about 1796 and died 26 Jan 1857 in Chester, Orange. New York. Mary had two children, Sarah Vail, DOB June 1824 and Caroline S. Vail DOB 08 Oct 1833. Sarah's DOB makes me wonder if Mary Cherry was married before her marriage to Eaton and/or whether Eaton was her biological father?
The above information is all that I have, and as you might guess there are more questions than answers. I hope that this roll call might find the golden needle for Mary Cherry.

John,
I don't know if we are related or not. My James' brother, William, lived in
Wilkinson County also and was married to Permelia Frazier. Do you know
which county in N.C. the migrated from and/or know all your William's
siblings? Let me know. Wish I could find something more about them as far
as who their father was and where in N.C. they were from, etc., etc.
Thanks.
Linda
