Hello,
I'm posting to several lists, so please excuse receipt of duplicate copies.
Perhaps I'm all excited about a wonderful database that everyone knew about but me,
but I just ran across it today...and am passing it along to those who might be interested
I is a database of census statistics for all census running from 1790 to 1960
You can set variables that you would like to see...such as number of person of
English/Welsh Nationality, Irish, German, French, Dutch etc. Total Population..how many families with 1-over 11 members.
Found it interesting that in 1790 there were only 4 persons of German nationality in Connecticut, but there were over 110,000 Germans in Pennsylvania.
I'm a nut for statistical comparison...so am in number crunching heaven
You can also generate a graphical presentation of various data

Looking for relatives of Louisa Maria Cherry, and her husband Frederick William Miller. They lived in Camberwell or Lewisham. They would have married circa 1870's or 1880's. They would be my great grandparents.
Here is another Cherry Webpage - for Tennesee Cherry descendants,
good luck,
Gaila

Hi,
Yes they were Cherokee. All of the land records and census records spelled his name Evan. There is way to much to try and list them here.

I got this message this morning - can someone help?
Please reply to kjnielsen50(a)hotmail.com
Hello Rhonda,
I am in posession of a Gadd Family Bible. This Bible was a wedding gift to
John Nelson Gadd and Cyrena Cherry Gadd.
Their son Charles Thomas was married in 1891 to ?. His wife resided in a
Home that was purchased by my grandparents in the late 1930's or early
1940's. I am attempting to speak with a surviving neighbor to see of there
were any children and resulting heirs to this bible.
If you could help with any information I would appreciate it very much.
Thank you
Karen Nielsen,

I'd be willing to bet the farm that our Cherry's are linked (especially since my brother lives on it and not me<grin>)! With my gggrandfather, Garland Hall, moving right along the same pattern, they have to be connected! It was trying to find and follow him that lead me down the Cherry's path! It's always interesting to me that some lines are so easily found, while others seem buried forever!
Also of great interest to me is that another line of my family is from Lancaster, and they too ended up in Macon County, Illinois! They didn't take the long route though through Tennessee. I was on another line tonight and have to call it quits for the evening, but I'll see what I can find on some of your family members. At one time, I had a ton of info on the Cherry's, whether it's easily accessible is another question! It seems to me I even found a book or at least a collection of genealogical magazines on them at one time.
Good luck in your hunting. Let's see just how close we can get! Jane

Jane, I am really impressed with your great research. I have read a lot of posts on Benjamin and Peterson Cherry, but never one that has been as complete as your research in knowledge. I have always wondered if my N.C. from PA. Cherrys could be kin to yours. I got most of my information from the CHERRY COUSINS CLEARINGHOUSE .My oldest Cherry was a Robert Cherry and wife Prudence who died in the early 1700s intestate in Lancaster co.,PA. They had at least one daughter Margaret and sons David and Robert. My Robert B.@1740 in PA. and his brother David came to Lincoln co.,Tn. before 1769. Robert married Sarah McCuistion in Rowan co.,N.C. and then moved back to Lincoln co. in 1774 where my ancestor Samuel was born in 1774. They then went to Rutherford co.,Tn..I believe they came from Antrim,Ireland or somewhere in Ulster. I have often wondered if there was any relationship between our Cherrys. What do you think?
