I do not know if this is the same Cherry line but here is what I have. Benjamin Cherry b.1790 in PA had a daughter Dorcas b. 1843 in Franklin Co. TN and she married Samuel Reed. Your Dorcas may have been Benjamin's sister as the family moved from PA south to VA, NC and then TN. His father was Benjamin Cherry. I have more info if you think this is a link let me know.
Marion, blessings to you and family as we bow our heads in praise for our
freedoms, good life, and tasty foods which are so abundant.
See you at SC in March!

Hi Nell,
My husband is a pilot, he was in the Navy 24 years. Retired and now does
contract work with the Brazilian Navy flying/teaching in the "old" A-4. I go
back and forth from here to Montana. Grew up in TN, moved to VA due to ex-
husband being in Navy. Lived in VA until current husband retired then moved
to CA and traveled back and forth between Argentina and Brazil due to his
job. Moved to MT to help take care of my mom over a year ago. The Lord
blessed us and I no longer need to be with her all the time so now am back
to the
traveling thing. I am tired to say the least. :) but when here in Brazil I do
have time to check into the family history stuff via online. I don't think
my Newton Cherry is the same one you sent me info on....but I haven't
discounted him yet. Maybe he is but I can't really place him, one lady wrote
and told me she was fairly certain he is not the same person. I did however
find an extensive file on Mary Frances Sims on the gencircles site.
I list my gg grandfather, Bergen A. Cherry...but nothing else on him.
How do you like living in FL? my husband is debating if we should retire
somewhere in FL, once he's ready to stop working.Have a great day.

Jim, as you have assisted me in the past, you can also help again. Thanks for
the note. I am actually trying to fill in some blanks for Twiwana who lives
in Brazil, so I will copy her on this email. Bergan Andrew Cherry is another
?? for her. Do you have documentation on him? Then I need info on their
children.
When Twiwana sent me an outline, the PLACES of birth, death, marriage (nor
date of marriage) was included in her outline from Carroll Turner Cherry
1855. So I need that outline and documentation.
Thanks - will look forward to you addressing both of us.

Olds, Fred A. Abstracts of Wills in North Carolina. Oxford: Clearfield Co., 1925.
Description:
First settled by Virginian emigrants, North Carolina was the destination of immigrants from many locations throughout the colonial period. This database is a collection of will abstracts in the state between 1760 and 1800. Each entry contains the year of filing and name of the person filing the will. Also provided are family members mentioned in the will including, but not limited to, spouse and children. With over 10,000 entries, it contains nearly 50,000 names. For researchers of colonial North Carolina ancestors this can be a valuable collection of records.

Hello
My name is Gaila and I am the Cherry List Administrator. I look after the Cherry list and a few others. Basically, I am a back up system for Rootsweb to assist researchers who are having trouble with Subscribing and Unsubscribing etc., as well as keeping the list on topic.
Rootsweb is sometimes (quite wrongly) being considered a spammer with some of the new software used by Internet Service Providers to block Spam. If they block List emails or any other emails you receive from various lists, you will "bounce" off the Rootsweb List. If this happens, I will see a few bounce messages and then most of the time, you will vanish from the list.
If this happens you can resubscribe but unless you speak to your ISP, the whole process will happen again.
I thought it was a good idea to see if anyone is having problems with staying on the list, just contact me and we can see if there are any alternatives available.
If you are experiencing difficulties, it might be a good idea to contact your ISP and let them know you want to receive mail from Rootsweb.
If I receive any messages saying that Rootsweb messages are being blocked by a spammer, then I will try to send you a copy of that email and you should forward it to your ISP and work things out with them.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Best regards,
Gaila Merrington
Cherry List Administrator
