I was wondering if anyone had a John Cherry, formerly Scherry in their
ancestry. He was the brother of Jacob Scherry and they immigrated to the US
from Bavaria, Germany in the early 1950s. John was a tailor and lived in or
near Luzerne COunty, PA possibly in WIlkes-Barre, PA. His brotehr Jacob
lived in Wilkes-Barre. If anyone has any info, please let me know. Thanks,
Jana Stanley

Does anyone have any connection to the Scherry/Cherry family that immigrated
from Bavaria, Germany to Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne COunty, PA in the mid 1850s?
If so, contact me so we can share info. Thanks, Jana Stanley
Just re-reading some messages and came across this one questioning the
Cherry name to Ulysses S. Grant. I too, years ago was told we were related
to Grant and I never did pursue it. I'm related to Cherry family through my
paternal grandmothers side which was back to Lemuel Cherry. Also, that
grandmother had Indian blood and I am continually trying to research that.
