I am tracing my Cherrys in Beaufort and Martin county NC but I do not
have a connection with your William. My earliest is Joseph Cherry in
1840 in Beaufort County NC. Have you posted your query to the Martin
COunty NC List? That is pretty active. I have seen Robason on Martin,
BEaufort and or Bertie County lists for NC. Good luck Kathy O'Neill

I have a family group sheet that names the father of William W. as Jonathon Cherry. I also found two Jonathons on the 1779 Martin Co. tax list and one Jonathon in the 1790 Martin Co. census. There are a number of other Cherrys on both the tax list an the 1790 census. Does any one know the relationship between William W. and the two Jonathons or the other individuals ? Does anyone have information on William's father and mother. Or information on James and Hannah Robason DAniel? THanks in advance.

Hi Cherry seekers,
I am new to this list so please excuse me if these questions have been answered before. My 4th ggrandfather was William W. Cherry; b. To whom it may concern:
Lena was a short nickname for my grandmother's name of Magdalene, or
Madeleine, as I have seen it written. Could this also be your Lena's
real name? Perhaps you've been searching for her with the wrong given
name???
Mary J. Marchant
I am looking for information on Elijah Cherry b. ca 1792 in GA d. Sept
1859 in Benton Co., MO. I found him in the 1850 census in Benton Co., MO
with his daughter Emily Duncan Cherry and son Elijah Jefferson Cherry. Any
connection?
Diane
She should be listed with her parents in the 1900 census. Just scan
through all of the Cherry entries in the 1900 soundex for TN until you
find the right Lena listed as a child. Her parents should be listed at
the top of the card.

I am not part of your Cherry's but -- on a hunch (based on the semi-recent
date of her death) I did a search in the Soc Sec Death Index sponsored by
RootsWeb.
I found this:
LENA COWAN
14 Feb 1891 - Oct 1972
Last Residence:
Gallatin, Sumner Co., TN 37066
SS #410-84-5759 issued in Tennessee
With this information, you can write the SS office and obtain a copy of her
application for her SS#. Since she filled it out, she should have listed her
parents names.
I have obtained several of this applications -- for $7.00 they are quite
handy. . .
Also, Lena's death cert might also give this information.
Check out the SS Death Index site at:
http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi
Once you locate your Grandmother, you can click on the box at the far right
which says "SS-5 Letter" and print out a copy ready for you to sign and send
of to the Soc Sec Admin with your $7.00.
Good luck,

Hi Folks
Sent this many months ago with little sucsess, but now have a bit more to add so maybe I'll get lucky this time:
The O'Connors we are searching are the Parents of Michael O'Connor & Alice Scales. Emigrated to Australia in 1857 with their son Michael. Father was Donald or Daniel O'Connor, born probably in "Doolin" Co Clare, mother was Bridget Cherry born Ballinasloe Co. Galway.
Alice's parents were William Scales & Alice McCoy all of Co Clare,
death cert. show Doolin or Killilagh, Killilagh being the Catholic parish of
the Doolin area I think? Ennistimon was also mentioned as a possible place of
residence on an obituary notice, also in the Killilagh parish.
Michael had listed as a migration sponsor his brother Tom (Thomas O'Connor) living in Australia since 1850, little is known of him. we believe
Daniel (Donald) & Bridget Cherry were thought to have had 11 children 9 deceased at time of Michaels migration we now know of two children living in1857 that of Patrick O'Connor and his wife Margaret and their daughter Bridget born 1840. Also Mary O'Connor marrried to Thomas Sharry their children being Bridget & Michael,Michael born 1837
Hopefully someone can shed some light on these people from this area.
