Cherry mother to William? William of Houston County had a brother Riley who
married Charity Wicker of Washington Co, Ga on 29 Oct 1839.
William married Edney in Bibb Co. Ga in 1842. Any sharing of information
would be appreciated,

Wicker in Washington County on 29 Oct 1839. In the 1850 census Riley and
Charity are living next door to William and Charity.
Another marriage was Wylie Cherry to Matilda Moore in Wilkes Co, Ga on 22
Jun 1820, was Wiley related to William? William had a son named Wiley.

Hello
I am Gaila Merrington, the Cherry list moderator. I am going on holiday
this week, so I am turning the list over to Sandra Riner. Please ask Sandra
if you need any assistance. Her email address is rinerw(a)planetc.com
We have a lot of new Cousins, who have joined the list. So post those
Cherry tree branches and connect with your new cousins.
I am going to have a day or two to search for Cherrys on this trip. I will
share that news with everyone.
It never occurred to me (grin) that Cherry cousins were so quiet and
retiring, although I always knew they had wonderful manners. It is very
good manners to share information and break down brick walls. Remember to
use Gen Connect and those of you with cousins from other areas, have them
join the list and participate!
Good hunting!
Gaila Merrington
Hello
It is quiet on the list. Over the next three weeks, I will be moving from
Sydney, Australia to the US to travel around. I hope to search records in a
few places on Cherry family and I hope to be able to share information with
the list.
In the meantime, Sandra Riner will be caretaking the Cherry lists, but I
hope you will all help each other. If you have information to share, please
share it. Use the Gen Connect boards and post to the list. The way to break
those brick walls is by sharing.
Take care,
Gaila Merrington

Hi List
Is anyone out there researching the Cherry Family in England. Mine came
from North Yorkshire, they were mostly Lead Miners the oldest one I have
is John Cherry Baptized in Grinton 1761 son of George, some of the
family later moved to West Yorkshire, and then to Lancashire.
If any of this sounds familiar I would love to hear from you.
Regards
Dawn Howarth
This is probably more appropriate for the SHERRY list, but that one is so
inactive that as far as I know I'm the only subscriber!
Is anyone working on the Pennsylvania-German SCHERRI family, associated
with the Wentz Reformed Church in present-day Montgomery (earlier
Philadelphia) County, PA in the late 18th century? Some sources give
CHERRY as a variant, but I have no firm evidence of that.

hello
This was forwarded to me today. If anyone one knows about this family, I
will try to make contact with the sender:
>Can anyone shed light on the Cherry Family of Colonial Bertie County? We
>find a Cherry Family in Marlboro County post Revolution. The names William,
>George, and Simon Cherry appear frequently in early Marlboro County
records.
>
>The Cherry Family is a side branch of my family tree. Sarah Pearson,
>daughter of Moses Pearson (Will probate date 1763-Craven County-SC) married
>a William Cherry. William witnessed his wife's will which was probated in
>Charleston, S.C. I am not sure, but I believe Simon to be the son of
William

>The early Pearson family of Marlboro County migrated through North Carolina

The oldest Cherry that I have sure information on is Francis Marion Cherry,
b. 12-1-1830, d. 6-26-1903 in Grayson Co. Texas. He was married to Nancy
Ellen Edge, b. 10-20-1842, d. 5-25-1929 in Grayson Co. Texas. Date of
marriage, 12-31-1865. Children: Sallie Lydia Cherry McRae Harrison,
b.9-3-1867 Cherry Mound, Grayson Co. Texas, d.7-19-1945 in Sewickely, Penn.;
Francis Marion Cherry II, b. 5-3-1871 in Cherry Mound, d. 1948 in Bells, TX.;
William Oscar Cherry, b. 1874, d. 1950 in Bells, TX.; Jacob Milam Cherry, b.
1876, d. 1945 in Bells, TX. Sallie, my greatgrandmother, wrote in a short
autobiography that during her early childhood her family moved back to the
homestead of David Cherry, 3 miles west of Bells, Texas. She also mentions
that her parents were founding members of the Baptist Church at Antioch near
there. The David Cherry mentioned is believed to be one listed in Austin's
"Register of Families" as a native of South Carolina, emigrating in 1830 to
Texas as a family of six.

Hi all --
Here is the brick wall I (and about 10 others) are trying to break through:
We are looking for the parents of PETER FRANCIS CHERRY abt. Oct 1814 in
Westmoreland Co., PA. He married Charlotte NESSELRODE on 9 Nov 1834 in

Here is what I and others have put together (99% of this is proved and not
just family legend) on he and his children. We have TONS more on his
