Hi,
Im new to this newletter, but being doing Cheney research in Australia for 9 years.
I am a decendant of William Cheney and Mary Clark of Woodford Northamptonshire.
related to mary via the Clark line also.
I am interested in all cheney research, but stuck in irthingborough at present. Thomas Cheney bn 1690, and Ann had family there, (William was born there 1716.)
I have about 10 children to William and Mary, then my direct line down. I would love to hear from anyone that has decended from the same familys, and link them in.
If anyone knows of a Cheney web site i would love to know that also.
But first up im keen to find anything out on the Irthingborough Cheneys,
And im also looking for my great great great grandpas siblings they were born at great giddings in the early 1800's.
hannah Cheney born abt 1811. no more information.
William cheney bn 1815 married Ann Lavender.
James Cheney bn 1805 m Mary Beeton
I have found Martha Cheneys decendants.
Also trying to solve a puzzle (who isnt) A Phoebe Cheney went to Norfolk and had a child to a Taylor by the name of Smith, they child was Sybil Cheney Smith who became a teacher, she had in her possesion at time of death a letter from my Thomas from 1853, which has been sent back to Australia in her attempt to get it into the Cheney family decendants, it was sent to the state libary to be given the job of getting it back to our family, they didnt they kept it, and we cant even veiw this letter.
However Sybils freind kept a photo copy, and we were given a copy of this.
Sybil was told there were no decendant son her line to pass thi onto. But i want to find the connection of phoebe to our line from great giddings, And i am now assuming it is via hannahs line.
I sincerly hope there is decendant of the great Giddings lines that are on this newsletter,
Thomas's father was Samuel Cheney and Jane Strickson.
I am in Adelaide Australia, Where Thomas migrated to in 1853. A FREE settler. A Pioneer, and instrumental in the building of two churches.
