Am searching for ancestors, descendants and siblings for a Thomas Cheney. Presuming England, but could be anywhere!!! He had a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Cheney, born close to the 1840's. Elizabeth later married George Stevens in 1863, when in South Australia.
Can anybody help?!?!?

Lucy is listed with the 4th Generation [at least that part of the book] but
is in/of the 5th Generation down from [the Immigrant William (i.e., CHENEY
of Roxbury {i.e. the colony of Massachusetts Bay, in New England}which is
now included in the city of Boston}] and His Descendands:
Abiel,4 (William,3 Thomas, 2 William1), b. in Roxbury, May 21, 1695, m. in
Ponfret, Conn., May 3, 1720, Marah WALDO, b. in 1696, d. Dec. 2, 1787. He
learned the trade of blacksmith, probably under his guardian, Daniel
HOLBROOK. Worked some time in Boston; then removed to Ponfret, Conn.
After the death of his brother, Thomas, in 1714, he joined William in a
sale to Jonathan DRAPER of some land near Dedham line which Thomas had
bequeathed to them. Feb. 8, 1716-17, he sold to his brother, William CHENEY
of Roxbury, carpenter, for 300 pounds [cash] (my computer will not make the
English pound sign), his share in a dwelling house and other buildings and
30 acres of land in Roxbury; one-half of five acres and a half of fresh
meadow in Roxbury, "being half of eleven acres in copartnership with Thomas,
William, and Abiel CHENEY," and half of eleven acres of salt marsh in
similar copartnership; also, "all his rights in Woodstock."
Hailing from Boston, he purchased of Samuel WALDO, for 130 pounds [cash],
a messuage [A dwelling house with its outbuildings and adjoining lands.] and
a tract of land in Pomfret and land adjoining the line of Woodstock, Nov.
13, 1716. He purchased another tract of Anthony and William STODDARD, Nov.
9, 1719. His brother, WIlliam, of Roxbury, bought 30 acres of land in
Ponfret from his step-father, Josiah SABIN for 300 pounds [cash], and
presented it to his namesake, Abiel's son, William. Aiel resided south of
the Mashamoquet, on land bought of Major FITCH, east of Newichewanna Brook.
He was chosen a town officer in 1724; was one of the founders of the "United
English Library for the Propagation of Christian and Useful Knowledge" in
Ponfret, Sept. 24, 1739, to which his subscription was "Abiel CHENEY,
blacksmith, ten pounds." He d. March 20, 1787.

Boy did I mess up. I know a lot of you thanked me, but, more really balled me
out. I'm so sorry for what I did. I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone.
Hope you will forgive me.
One person referred to it as "Spam." Truthfully, I did NOT know that, that
was what it was called. So a new lesson for me to learn. Again, please
FORGIVE?
This was sent to me by a cousin from Wyoming. Maybe it needs to be sent to
our government officials. Hmmmmmmmm!
When minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new sessions of the Kansas
>Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what
they
>heard:
>
>THE PRAYER
>Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask Your forgiveness and to
>seek Your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who
>call evil good,," but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our
>spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
>
>We confess:
> We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism.
>
>We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism.
>
>We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle.
>
>We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
>
>We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
>
>We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
>
>We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
>
>We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building
>self-esteem.
>
>We have abused power and called it politics.
>
>We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
>
>We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it
>freedom of expression.
>
>We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it
>enlightenment.
>
>Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and
>set us free.
>
>Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent to direct us to the
>center of your will. I ask it in the Name of Your Son, the living Savior,
>Jesus Christ.
>
>Amen.
>
>The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the
>prayer in protest. In six short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev.
>Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those
>calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving
>international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa, and
>Korea.
>
>Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on "The Rest of the Story" on the
>radio and received a larger response to this program than any other he has
>ever aired.
>
>With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and
>wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called one nation
>under God.
