Howdy Chenault Researchers:
By chance does anyone out there have a Maggie Eugenia Chenault who married
Robert Lee Bottoms in their ancestry. Maggie was born Sept 19, 1867 and died
December 3, 1953 in Richmond, VA.

Bernie Bland in Northern Virginia

Although Austin Haynes married Louisa Chenault, his War of 1812 pension papers named his wife as Louisa Stevens. This leads me to believe that Louisa was a widow, and had been married to a son of William. However, William Chenault's name appears on the license. Possibly she was in his care. If you have any additional information, I'd be very interested in it. Thank you for responding. Kathryn

There were only two Chenault brothers who settled in Ohio during the 1830s. They settled in Pike and Ross Counties. I believe the town that you were referring to is Wheelersburg. It is situated in the eastern portion of Scioto County. There were many Chenaults that settled in Madison County in Kentucky. There were various other Chenaults in a few other counties in Kentucky. My husband's family are the Ohio connection, William B. and Patrick. Your Chenaults may have traveled north into Ohio at a later date. Check the Chenaults from Madison County, there is a lot of information on this branch. Hope this was helpful.

Kathryn,
I believe that William traveled to Wythe County, VA. I found a William that fits the age. I believe that we are tracking the same family. My husband's family, William B. Chenault sp. Eliza Ann Hutchinson and his brother, Patrick Chenault, moved to Ross and Pike Counties, Ohio, sometime during the 1830s. I believe that Louisa is old William's daughter. I may have her brothers. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks.
