MANSFIELD: Marilyn Edith McPherson, 78, of Mansfield, Ohio, formerly of Plymouth and Ashland, Ohio died Friday, August 10, 2012 at The Cleveland Clinic.
Born April 11, 1934 in Plymouth, Ohio she was the daughter of George and Ida Marie (Ross) Cheesman.
She enjoyed genealogy and was a member of the Ohio Genealogical Society ~ having written a book about her family history, needlework, quilting, basket weaving and toll painting.
She was also an expert shuffleboard player and seamstress and had also enjoyed flower arranging, dancing, playing the piano and traveling ~ having traveled to all 50 states. She and her husband wintered in Texas for over 19 years.
She was a former member of Plymouth United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and played piano.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dale McPherson; two sons, Craig (Barb) McPherson of Shelby, Ohio and Steven (Lisa) McPherson of Bluffton, SC; two daughters, Pam (Ron) Seibert of Harrisburg, PA and Deb (Greg) Fink of Bellville, Ohio; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Glenna Cheesman of Shelby, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Haldon Cheesman; two sisters, Dorothy Fried and Mary Louise Cheesman.
Private family services will be held. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Marilyn Edith McPherson.
