Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Katherine "Kate" Cheesman was born 25 FEB 1851, New York City, New York, daughter of
Dr. Timothy Matlack Cheesman (1824-1888) and Maria Louisa Smith (1827-1903).
She married George Washington Riggs (1848-1914), 08 OCT 1879, New York, New York.
She died 30 AUG 1911, New York. Her father, Dr. Timothy Cheesman served in the 7th New York Infantry nas a surgeon. The horrors of the war turned him into an anti-war activist and participated in anti-war protests, including the 16 JUL 1863 New York City Riot.

Lioniel Nathaniel "Lonnie" Cheesman was born in McDonough County, Illinois, the son of Charles Eugene Cheesman (1872-1947) and Ida Mae Fuller. He was the Grandson of Nathaniel Cheesman (1825-1907) and Martha Kelly. Nathaniel Cheesman (1825-1907) and my Great Great Grandfather Joseph G. Cheesman (1814-1886) were brothers.
