I have info on John that he is the son of Samuel Cheeseman and Hannah Giles baptized on 18 May 1817 in Bisley, Surrey, England as in the Baptismal records in Bisley, Surrey. He is my 2nd gr grand father and he did live in Hamilton Ontario. his 3rd child was Albert Edward Cheeseman 1854-1912 who is my gr grand father. Albert Edward Cheeseman 1899-1958 was my grand father. John married Elizabeth McGrath 1833-1913 in USA circa 1848-1849 but cannot find marriage records.

Hi Again,
Just been doing some checks and came across the following post on Rootsweb stating that John was from Staples in Kent, meaning that he wasn't the son of Samuel and Hannah.
Kind regards,
Adam

Hi there,
Thanks for getting in touch. I have a difference of opinion in whom he married. I have that he wed Mary Hone on 20th April 1844 in Pirbright and that they had 7 children who were baptized in Bisley.
Are you able to help me sort out this discrepency?
Kind regards,
Adam

My 2nd gr grand father was John Cheeseman 1817-1891 baptized on 18 may 1817 in Bisley Surrey, son of Samuel Cheeseman 1796-1877 and Hannah Giles 1794-1861. He immigrated to the New York USA in 1841 aboard the ST. James and later moved to Canada-Wentworth county also known as Hamilton Ontario sometime between 1860-1870. He married Elizabeth McGrath around 1849 in the USA. There are hundreds of Cheesemans living in and around Hamilton Ontario and surrounding area.

I recently purchased a bunch of old photos. One of the photos shows a younger woman. On the back is written "Kate E. Cheeseman, cousin Sarah's sister". The photo was taken at a photo studio in New York City, likely around 1880. Attached is a copy of the photo.
If this is one of your ancestors, please contact me.
