Robert,
I am a great, great grand daughter of John Cheeseman.
These two brothers settled in the Burin peninsula of Newfoundland. John had many children, including my great grand father, Micheal Cheeseman. My grandfather, Alphonsus Cheeseman is Michael Cheeseman's son.
Michael Cheeseman fathered about 14 children from two wives. My grand father was the seventh son born into his family and his mother died in child birth giving birth to him. Her name was Johanna Hann from Petite Forte, a beautiful picturesque community in Nl. She is buried there.
His father Michael, was John's seventh son. This is supposed to mean in our folklore that these sons had special abilities and my grandfather for example was sought after from all over the surrounding communities as he could stop blood loss. My grandfather married Christina Whiffen and they had 15 chidlren and 12 survived childhood.
My father is Alphonsus Cheeseman's namesake. My father Phonse was born in 1947 and he and my mother had 6 children.
I am Phonse's daughter, Lisa the 2nd eldest of his 6 children.
I have one daughter,Jessica.
The Cheesemans have been known for their musical talents and their ability to make up stories that entertained many family members before there was TV.
The children are all very smart and like their parties. We are a large , loving family whom I like to think have a good name and a good work ethic...
I hope that gives you some info on the Cheeseman family.
