Thanks. I was looking for date of death and am beginning a search regarding the possibility of Millard being adopted...which is the story always told to my father, apocryphal I think...but I won't bore with details. thanks again.

What exactly are you looking for?It appears you have found them in all the censuses. I did a quick check and Miller/Millard worked for the RR. His son, Burl b Jan 1893.
It appears his mother, Nancy, was b Indiana, not India and his father, John, b VA.
Millard died 22 Apr 1942 at Springfield,Ohio.
You might try familysearch.org. Do a pilot search.(Click on the box "search records" and under that, "record pilot search.")
If you come up with a death certificate, you can print it off.

Looking for information about Millard (Miller) Fillmore Cheeseman (b.1861), son (possibly adopted) of John (b. 1816) and Nancy Cheeseman (b. 1833 in India)...family history seems rooted in Southern Ohio...Pike County area. I am ole Millard's great grandson I suppose...in case anyone is interested. My grandfather, Millard's son, was Byrl Cheeseman (b. 1893)...also encountered spellings for him as Beryl and Burla. Weird folks.

I do have information on the family of Rev. Lewis Cheesman going back to his great-grandfather, George Chesman, who came from England and settled at Braintree, MA. Rev. Cheesman was my 3rd great-grandfather. I'd be happy to fill you in on what I know and/or provide source information.
Jim
