thanks for your reply. I will check out this state park.
My Cheeseman ancestors came over from England in the 1800's I believe. They may have been somewhere else at first but did go to Canada.

Hi Guys I have been reading your comments on the hope that someone might be
connected to my Cheesman.
I have a Mary Cheesman c1812 who married a John Tough Finch.
To my knowledge Mary may have come from Frimley, Surrey.
Does this ring any bells with anyone?
Sally

Hi My Cheesemans came from Wiltshire and though I had a relative who was shipped to Australia in the 19th century my family arrived here in Canada in 1948. I know of no one who came to Canada prior to this. There is a John T. Cheeseman National Park near Channel Port aux Basques in Newfoundland. You might find a clue there. Ian

Hi I don't think any of my Cheesemans came from Kent. They came from Wiltshire, though if one could go back further it might be that at some time they migrated from Kent/Sussex.

Louise,
As far as I have been able to determine, my John Cheeseman had seven other brothers and sisters as follows:
Mary Cheeseman - baptized 24 Feb 1799 in Stalisfield, Kent, England and married Robert Cheeseman on 25 Dec 1823 in Stalisfield.
Elizabeth Cheeseman - baptized 4 Dec 1803 in Stalisfield, Kent, England
Lucy Cheeseman - baptized 2 Dec 1805 in Stalisfield, Kent, England
Charlotte Cheeseman - baptized 23 Aug 1807 in Stalisfield, Kent, England
Sarah Cheeseman - baptized 26 Jul 1812 in Stalisfield, Kent, England
Anne Cheeseman - baptized 12 Jun 1816 in Stalisfield, Kent, England
Amos Cheeseman - born 1820/1821 in Stalisfield, Kent, England
Do any of these fit in with your Cheeseman's. I don't believe that there were that many Cheeseman's in Sheppey.
Steve Searight

The John Cheeseman might be who I am looking for. But my Cheeseman's came from Canada after immigrating from England but could have come up through Ohio. (I think) My great grandfather was Robert Cheeseman, and my grandfather's name was Enoch Walter Cheeseman, who married Sarah Boadway. They lived in Yale, Michigan. I have not been able to trace the English connection as yet. Anyone able to help me with the English connection? I don't have birthdates at hand right now. If anyone wishes, I will look them up.
