I am trying to find more information on my ancestor, William CHEESMAN. He married Susan ELAM in Fayette County, IL on August 5, 1849. "History of Bond & Montgomery Counties Illinois 1882" has his name as CHEESEMAN and states that he was from Henry County, MO.. After his marriage he lived in Illinois for several years and then moved to Henry County, MO. According to the 1880 census he was born in Ohio and his father was from Scotland and his mother from Germany.
I have been unable to find any other information on William prior to his marriage.
If anyone can provide me with more information on William CHEESMAN I would appreciate it.
