Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Thanks for your reply but unless you know of a Cheeseman or Longfellow of Indian ancestry, there is no connection.
The Cheeseman family in Ohio have a picture of a lady who looks to be of Indian descent and the envelope was labeled "Grandma Cheeseman". If this is true, she was probably Catharine Longfellow Cheeseman, wife of William Cheeseman, who died early 1900,s in Marietta, Ohio.
We may never know.

I understand that you made a query about Cheesemans and the American Indians...? My parents, Clifford and Sheila Cheeseman were missionaries to the Navajo Indians in Farmington, N. Mex. for 45 years. Is this the information you were wondering about? Please contact me if you wish more information. Mother wrote two books about their experiences if you are interested.
