Hi Listers,
I have been trying to find my CHEESEMAN's for many months now.
According to the 1901 my Ada CHEESEMAN is is fact Emily A CHEESEMAN, born
1870 in Shere, Surrey She married Alfred William ROSE in Dorking approx 1891
It also appears that Alfreds brother, Thomas ROSE married Lydia Ellen
CHEESEMAN, born 1874 in Shere, Surrey. (Married in 1893)
If anyone is researching the CHEESEMAN's from Shere, Surrey I would love to
hear from you.
Regards,
Caroline

Greetings listers
As it appears the Cheeseman-uk list appears to
be unaffected unlike many other lists I am posting
this message I sent to the London-L recently.
Seeking help or connection to
CHEESEMAN
Seeking info on Edward F CHEESEMAN a gasfitter
of 7 Bramley Road, Notting Hill, Kensington London
son of William CHEESEMAN a bricklayer. Edward in 1878
married Catherine A BROWN daughter of Fitzroy M BROWN
of Strand, Middlesex.
I have been informed this area was vacant land in 1871,
which if true means Edward and father William could be
from anywhere in London, Kent, Surrey or Sussex. Even maybe from Dorset.
Edward was a widow at the time of his marriage. He died
in 1881 before the 1881 census was taken. This is surprisingly my longtime
brick wall family line. I have
most lines back into the 1600's so this ongoing brick
wall with my own direct surname is most annoying
Hoping someone knows Edward Cheeseman''s father, former
wife or siblings to make a connection. My grandfather, Edward's grandson was
in contact with Cheeseman relatives
in the UK before his death in 1990 but my father has no knowledge of contact
details etc.
As both of Edwards two children came to Western Australia with their mother
and new stepfather and half siblings in 1887, the contact if any in the UK
could only be from
Edward's siblings family lines which may have still been
known to my grandfather being his fathers Uncles and/or
Aunt's.
Locating Edward F Cheeseman a gasfitter? in the 1871 Census would be like
looking for a needle in a haystack.
regards
Michael Cheeseman

Greetings listers
You have probably noticed over the last month that list
mail can be patchy or even non existent for hours at a
time.
As mentioned previously in June/July to many of my email lists except those
I have recently taken over or started.
Rootsweb have been upgrading their hardware to handle the increasing email
traffic of 25,000+ email lists and significantly increasing data storage
space for
worldconnect, various regional databases and Freepages webpages now needed
as Rootsweb's popularity increases.
The problems you are seeing are a result of the work
they are still doing to improve our service. They promise that no mail is
being lost and although I'm not altogether sure about that, we are going to
have to trust their
assurances that it is only a hiccup. It's been a very quiet weekend on many
of the lists with almost no messages getting through and behind the scenes
there are other situations which only affect the listowners.
I think we are just going to have to be patient and in time it should all
get back to normal. For those that are unaware, Rootsweb has been going for
many years on voluntary subscription basis much coming from early List
Admins and freepages owners etc. It continues to be provided as a free
service and is now supported by the new parent company - Ancestry.com
Rootsweb in the main is, as always supported by Random
acts of Kindness by family history researchers just like yourselves with
only a few technical roles being paid positions. So when feeling frustrated,
try to remember most
of us are volunteers, giving of our time freely so many fellow researchers
can benefit.

Hi Listers,
Does anyone have an Ada CHEESEMAN in their tree?
My ggrandmother was Ada CHEESEMAN - she married Alfred ROSE - don't know
where, don't know when!!
They lived in Dorking, Surrey and had 14 children before 1911. I believe
that they were married approx 1891 but I have been unable to find any record
of a marriage anywhere.
They may have been spotted in the 1891 living in Falkland Gardens, Dorking!
If anyone thinks they they may know Ada I would love to hear from them - any
clues would be appreciated.
Regards,
Caroline
