Nancy Cheek and William Anderson moved to Kentucky sometime after 1828 as my gg grandmother, Sarah, was born in Tennessee that year. She married Harden Morris, son of Robert Morris and Minta Johnson, in 1848 and they raised their family in Owsley County. William and Nancy lived in Jackson County, which was part of Owsley at one time. I believe they had at least 3 other children: William, James and Mary. According to the 1850 census, all 3 children were born in Tennessee. Sarah was already married in 1850.
I show Nancy Cheek's death as 1870, but I do not have my source available. I'll look further.
My great grandmother was Nancy Jane Morris, who married Riley Shepherd, son of John Riley and Nancy Wells Shepherd. My grandmother was Rhoda Margaret Shepherd. She married Lewis Henry Sandlin.
