Hmmm, that link was scanned by my AV when it came in and when it went out and didn't set off any alarms. You probably should report that to Google since they generated the link. It's more likely you picked up some malicious Java code in a frame no one had any idea was attached to a legitimate website. Hackers do that all the time then it sits there until something triggers it. Your AV program wouldn't have been able to find it until it was triggered. I promise there's nothing on my machine and no one else has reported a problem. MalWare Bytes, a free program, should be able to fix that for you. It can usually be run from a thumb drive.
That actually sounds like one of those fake Security messages that come up. It makes you think the computer is locked up, but it's not, then a message will pop up for you to buy their software to fix it. You have to sign in as a different user or in safe mode, then you can delete the file.
I'm surely sad it's caused you trouble.
I have not seen anyone named America Cheek on any of the Cherokee rolls. Is this America Cheek Horton? Someone said she had a roll number as a Delaware Cherokee (what does that mean?)with a group in Arkansas, but this not a federally recognized nor a Cherokee Nation - west or east - recognized group. It is a non-profit organization that charges you a maintenance fee to be a member. I think I would take a hard look before I made that leap. If I understand other posts about her, it seems like she was much too early for any of the rolls that were numbered other than family group numbers.
If you are talking about a Dawes Roll number, did she live in Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory in 1896-1904? If not, she probably would not have a Dawes number as that was a requirement as well as proof of Cherokee citizenship.
I'm sure you probably posted your information at some point and I'm probably just tired and can't find it. Can you tell us more about your America?
The Cheeks I am connected to are out of VA to NC. I have a Robert Tynes Cheek that I am sure connects at some point to my Tynes 6th great grandfather, but I haven't been able to connect the dots. I have a lot of Cheek information that is not related but gathered in searching for the Cherokee Cheeks for a friend (didn't know I had any Cheeks until much later!).

Hello CHEEK Cousin, I also descend from GGG-GF-Randolph CHEEK/Sarah, GG-GF-James H. Cheek/Sarah, father of G-GM-Susannah CHEEK-WHITENER to Grandmother Sarah WHITENER-UNDERWOOD. It seems that
there were a few stories that "MeMa" would tell about the
family and that there was an Indian somewhere in the group
but I really dont remember her saying a whole lot about it.
She died when she was 98 years old and had alot of stories
but not to much abt this one. It would have been on her
mother's side of the family, Susan Cheek and she died when
MeMa was in her late teens or early 20's, she (Susan Cheek-Whitener) caught on fire from a spark from the train that was passing by when they were out in the field bringing in the crops, she died the following day.. I'm sorry that I dont have more on the Indian stories,.. But I still have alot of info that I havent gone through concerning MeMa's family..If I run across anything I will post it here..If you have any questions about the family I will be happy to help if at all possible.
Thank You for your posting about the Indian in the family and please keep us posted on what you find. I think we all would be very interested to find this out too..!!
All of my family are in MO. too.
Well Happy Hunting and hope to see further posts on the progress of finding out if there is any Indian in the CHEEK family.
Sandee

I am looking for 3 children by Cleveland Haskew Cheek. Their names are Tommy, Helen Katherine (Sissy) and Ethel Jean (Jeannie). Would you be related in any way to these three? Their mother and my mother were sisters.

Hi Crista,
I'm interested in investigating the oral history of Randolph Cheek being Cherokee.
If it can't be proven for certain, I'd like to know how far back the rumor goes. I've seen people from an apparently widespread group of Randolph's descendants cite the Cherokee story from oral history.
I think if we share our basic lineage, we can roughly pinpoint how far back the story goes. Please share primarily what you get from your own family records... instead of taking for granted the online sources (since the Randolph Cheeks of the 1700s and 1800s are plenty and rather confused!).
So here's my lineage:
Ramone Romero, 1977-
m. Loretta Long, 1950-
gf. Ernest Long, 1915-2013
ggm. Bessie Mae Mayfield, 1882-1917
gggm. Sarah Ann Bollinger, 1869-1943
ggggm. Elizabeth Cheek, 1841-1924
gggggf. James H. Cheek, 1813 or 1814 - 1905
ggggggf. Randolph Cheek, d.1874
I left out locations (everybody is in Missouri) primarily to make it simpler. Email me if you want the locations I have. But right now I just want to cross-check who else of RC's descendants has heard the Cherokee story from their family's oral history.
Thanks!
Ramone Romero

I am researching the Rhynes of Maury Co TN. I am trying to make connections between these people:
Betsy Rhyne m John L Cheek 26 Sep 1830 Maury TN
Andrew Rine m1 Eliza Hesket 20 Jan 1831 Maury TN
m2 Elizabeth Hayes 5 May 1836 Maury TN
Christopher Rine m1 Cynthia Hesket 15 May 1841 Maury TN
m2 Jane Eakin 8 Apr 1852 Marshal TN
John Rine m Elizabeth Mitchell 26 May 1835 Maury TN
Sarah Rine m Francis Gill 20 Oct 1828 Maury TN
One internet listing of the Cheek family says Elizabeth was the daughter of Andrew and Ellen Rhyne of North Carolina. Anyone know the source of this information?
There is a John Rine listed in the 1830 Maury Census that is of the correct age to be the father of these people but not an Andrew. I believe the Andrew married twice above is my ancestor Andrew born btw 1810-1813.
Any clues or correction greatly appreciated!
