Hi,
The question as to whether or not your Austin Cheek is descended from George Cheek and Leanna of Front Royal, VA, may be a difficult one to prove. From this link
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wa6dsb/Mar-Pedigree/356...
We find that there was an E. Cheek (Elisha or Elijah in other records) married to a Polly Cheek, who had several land transactions with Austin Cheek. Other Cheek names in here appear to be Austin's children, with the exception of a George Cheek and possibly and James Cheek that are mentioned. The questions are, how is E. Cheek, aka Elisha/Elijah Cheek in these accounts related to Austin Cheek? And how is he related to the other VA Cheeks?
There is a Francis Cheek, son of George and Leanna of Front Royal, VA, who apparently had a son named Elijah or Elisha. However, there was also an apparently unrelated Elijah Cheek in the same area at roughly the same time.
The Elijah Cheek unrelated to George and Leanna married a Mary Holtzmann. It should be noted that "Polly" is a common nickname for "Mary" and in the link above Polly Cheek is mentioned more than once as the wife of E. Cheek.
The Elijah Cheek, son of Francis Cheek, and grandson of George and Leanna/Leah Anna, married a Milly Horton.
Now, it should be noted that it is not 100% certain that these are two different Elijah Cheeks. It depends upon which birthdates you accept, as some would have Elijah getting married at about 6 years old, which is not likely. And no one has posted their source of the birthdates for any of these Elijah Cheeks. The most reasonable, to my mind, birthdates among those posted in the various genealogies would make them two separate people.
But what the relationship is between your Austin Cheek and Elijah Cheek as of right now is still a big question mark.
Scott
P.S. That link above also mentions that Austin Cheek was also known as Oscar Cheek. Perhaps that may help someone track more information down.
P.P.S. This link
http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~dobson/va/vaculpe5.htm
mentions an E. Cheek and his wife Polly, and also a Luke Cheek. Curiously, both Francis Cheek and Austin Cheek had sons named Luke.
This link
http://files.usgwarchives.org/va/culpeper/census/1783/1783tax01.txt
Mentions both an Elisha Cheek and a Frances Cheek in Culpeper Co. in 1783. This should not be construed as meaning this is the Francis Cheek of George and Leanna. There were at least two Francis Cheeks and possibly three living in the same general area at roughly the same time.
http://genforum.genealogy.com/dyke/messages/633.html
an Elijah Cheek living about the right time and place to be the Elijah Cheek under discussion here.
Hope all this is of some use to someone.

Welcome, Cheeks of Group III.
Thank you for joining the Cheek DNA Project. You have finally answered the question; Are the Dearborn County, IN Cheeks related to the Group I or the Group II Cheeks? Answer: They are related to neither, at least within the past thousand years, or so.
In recent history, all three Cheek clans lived within seventy-five miles of each other; Shelby County, KY, Dearborn County, IN and Brown County, OH.
Best wishes,
Terry Cheek (MisterCheek)

I have taken the Cheek DNA test and I am now the second Cheek from the Front Royal Virginia group. So now there are 3 distinct Cheek groups. My ggg grandfather Austin Cheek came from Culpeper VA. He moved to Wellsburg WV around 1860. We don't know how we get back to George Cheek from Front Royal from Austin Cheek, but we are sure back to Austin.

Greetings!
I will be happy to send what I have. I know I have researched this family, but it was a good long while ago. I have the information on a disk, so it may take me a day or two to get to it - if it's not in my binder, it's upstairs in a box and I'm recovering from knee replacement, so I can't negotiate the stairs very well and I have to get someone to go up and find the right box.
In the meantime, I will have a look at your website.

Is there any information that you have on America Cheek bor abt 1800 in Tenn and married to William Horton born about 1790 in New York. I believe one of their children, Mary Hannah Horton born June 22, 1839 in Wayne County, TN is one of their children. This child, Mary Hannah Horton I believe married James Henry Martin born May 26, 1836 in Wayne County, TN. Any information will be greatly appreciated

Susan,
Please send me the info you have. I have my Cheek family traced back to Jesse C Cheek. Jesse's father may have been Randolph Cheek from Bollinger Co MO. My great grandmother was Sarah Elizabeth Cheek Yow, Jesse's daughter, who was raised in Bollinger County MO but whose family had traveled there before the Trail of Tears so no records seem to be available. I was told that at least one of the descendants made it to Oklahoma but I don't even know his name. Jesse Cheek was married to Mary Catherine Grable. I think Jesse went to Jack Co TX where he then disappears from the census. Thanks so much.
P.S. I have a website at www.yowfamily.com with some info on the Cheek connection.

Please send me your Cherokee Cheek lines. The Cheek is in NC - GA - Ok. I have been told the Cheeks were not registered in OK as all of the family was very ill at the time but do not know about rest of the Cheeks family that stayed in GA.
Thanks,
