I hope you get this message. My father was Abbott Cheek, brother to Cord Cheek (I think). I think I meet Cord(John) and Mary a the one and only Cheek family reunion I went to in Lexington Ky many years ago. I may have names mixed up it was a long time ago. He seemed to be a very nice man. I'm looking for any and all information for the Cheek side of my family. I was told there is indian somewhere on the Cheek side or Eliza's. I don't know who. I have no pictures. My parent's divorced when I was young and most of my family wouldn't have anything to do with Abbott. So my knowledge of the Cheek side is limited. However, I would like information for my sake and my children's.
My mother was Mildred Barnes Cheek of Stanton Ky. Please feel free to contact me, I would love to hear from you.

I'm hoping to get a marriage lookup in Bell County, Kentucky OR Lee County, Virginia for John Cheek Sr. (1881-1961) and Mary Lou Carmony (1885-1939).
Their oldest child listed in the 1920 Census was born around 1908, so I'm guessing the marriage occurred around or before that time. Mary Lou and her family are from Lee County, Virginia, so it's possible the marriage occurred there if I can't find anything in Bell County.
While I'd love a marriage date and location for the marriage of John and Mary, my primary goal is to get confirmation on John's parentage. Every family tree I've found online shows his parents as James F. Cheek and Rhoda Jane Bull, and until now I have accepted this. Now that I look more deeply into this, I cannot actually find any records showing this parentage.
I find James and Jane in the 1900 Census, but their son John was born in Jan 1878 and not July 1881 as I would expect if this were the John I'm looking for.
Please let me know if you have any information that might help!

I doesn't seem as though we share the same relative (not on that branch at least) but perhaps I can be of some help. If know what counties in Georgia you are looking for I've found that http://usgenweb.org/ has a wealth of information. Also, something you may want to look into is The Cheek Family Chronicles at http://cheekfamilychronicles.homestead.com/CheekFamilyChronicles.html. This was an extensive genealogical researching of the Cheek name. Good luck!

I am trying to find information on a Ritter Cheek. She was the mother of John Manson Cheek (b.6/15/1882) and William Henry Cheek (b. 1878). John Manson and William Henry came to Franklin Co, AL from Hart Co, GA in the late 1800's and lived with Jackson Dooley Cheek.
Ritter may have been the daughter of Preston Vandiver Cheek Sr. I have been told that she married a Dr. Page in Georgia.
Any info that you may have would be greatly appreciated.
