I made a statement this morning that was incorrect and wish to have it corrected. It was made to who ever is in charge of Cheek-L.
I said that Nancy Anne Lnu Cheek b. 1760, d. 13 Jan 1826 in Lee Co, Va, was the first wife of Joseph Hiram Gilbert. Basically that was corrrect, except that Nancy's first husband was William Isiah Cheek, and I believe they had several children which Joseph Hiram took as his own. This indicates that William Isiah must have died to me. Anyway, just wanted to make this correction.
Anyone wishing to share Cheek lineage that involves Nancy Anne Cheek, I would definately appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Jim Brown, Jr.

If your dad is Mike Smith, I can't beleive he doesn't know more than that about Pop [ John Cheek ] and Mom [ Verla Lee ]
Mike spent a lot of his childhood in their home. He spent a lot of over night stays when he was small, and some when he was a teenager.
Mike is my nephew.
