Hi,While I was researching my husband's people, I ran into some Cheeks in Surry Co. North Carolina. Then as I followed my husbands line into Bedford Co. Tennessee there were the Cheeks again, only on the Census someone spelled it Cleek. I've read where many early settlers in N.C. and into Tennessee married into the Cherokee tribes. It's hard to tell since they had their Indian name and would take a white man name also...anyway, I was researching back home where I am from, and low and behold, I found some more Cheeks. I didn't know there were any in Mason Co. Illinois. So here they are if you are missing some....
Henry Cheek, Isaac I. Cheek, John N. Cheek, and Julia Cheek all have probate records at the Havana Court House phone 309-543-6661.

This post was very intriguing to me, because I have a Randolph Cheek, born 1774 NC, living in Bollinger County, Missouri in 1870. One of his grandchildren is named Tyson, another Cornelius. He is married to Sarah, aged 84, born NC.
I would like to find more info on Randolph and Sarah.
Any info appreciated.
