Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

direct lineage back to his 2nd great-grandfather, Nicholas Cheek. My
grandfather could not recall all of the names of Nicholas' children. I
purchased your book, "The Cheek Family Chronicles", hoping it would contain
the missing names. Unfortunately, it did not. At this time, I have found
very little additional information about Nicholas' children. I will post
everything I find on this forum.

Attached below is my transcription of the Last Will & Testament for Nicholas S. Cheek, dated May 3, 1853. This document contains the names of Nicholas' wife, their seven children, two of their grandchildren, their two negro slaves and the married names of their three daughters. No land is mentioned in this document. The property was deeded to their son, Granville Cheek, prior to Nichols' will. Nichols and Susannah Cheek spent their final years, next door, with their daughter Elizabeth Ann and her husband, the Reverand William Pugh. Henry Cheek's children, Susan Elizabeth and Nicholas Alexander Cheek, resided with their Aunt Elizabeth Ann and Uncle William Pugh, after they were abandoned .
