I am trying to prove or disprove whether Jesse Cheek (my gg grandfather) was or was not a son of Randolph Cheek of Bollinger County Missouri (also known as Cape Girardeau County prior to 1850). There is a lot of info out there re:Randolph Cheek but it is difficult to determine anything for sure because there was more than one man by that name.
But, I think there was only one Randolph Cheek from Bollinger County MO in the time frame I am looking at, in the late 1700s, early 1800s. Can anyone help me? I do have my great grandmother's death certificate showing her parents as Jesse Cheek and Mary Catherine Grable Cheek. And I know that she was born in Bollinger County MO.
If anyone has information, please contact me at darla(a)yowfamily.com
I also have a website: http://www.yowfamily.com
Thanks.
No my progenitor was Jeremiah Cheek died 1823 in Marshall Co now Bedford Co
Tenn.

I have tried before, but did not receive any responses, so I am trying again. My grandfather Jerry Philpot Married Maggie Cheeks on 10-31-1895 She had four boys, Bradley, Smith, Dan and chester. she lost a daughter around 1904 or 1905, and I am told she grieved herself to death. I have searched everyplace I can think, but have not found who her parents were or if she had bros or sisters. My name is Jim Philpot, but I have as much cheek blood as philpot, I would really like to know something about her , and there are some relatives out there I would really like to meet. Any help is certainly appreciated. My email is jimphilpot(a)sbcglobal.net. Thank you

Mr Long,
I'm actually responding to your message from early last year about Francis Gray. I tried to email you but couldn't get through so I thought I'd take this approach. Francis is my gggrandfather, then Charles M, then Charles E, then Steven S. I'm Steven D. I've recently been in touch with Judy from MI who is a decendent of Grover and I'm sure she would enjoy corresponding with you. If you can please send me an email and we'll exchange some info. Thanks.
Hello,
I am looking at the 1810 Laurens County SC census on Ancestry. When I
searched for CHEEK the index showed Bandd Cheek on page 63, when I went to
the actual image it certainly appears to be Randol Cheek to me, however I
can't figure out the numbers in the columns these look like the totals
carried forward, but they really don't match with the previous page. Can
anyone on the list help my "old" eyes figure this out. On Heritage Quest I
can't even find the page, it's like it was skipped in the filming. Thanks
for your help. Stephanie in Oregon

You are absolutely right. I should have been more specific
and say I wanted to get in touch with any of my Cheek cousins if there are any still living and of whom I have never met.

So happy to have someone researching my line! Is your husband possibly a descendant of Austin? If so, we are cousins. Austin and Demanda/Amanda are my 3rd great-grandparents through their son, James. I have a LOT of info on them. I don't yet have proof of Austin's parentage, but have a "short list" of strong suspects.
I also have some info on the Whalings/Whalins/Whelans.
I am happy to share with you. Please let me know the connection between your husband and Austin and what info you are most interested in.
